When your child comes in, we’ll keep a pleasant and comfortable environment for them. We encourage a parent to come into the surgery room with their child so that we can explain our findings to both of you.
Fissure Seals
The back teeth can form deep grooves that are difficult to reach with a toothbrush. If they’re not cleaned properly, decay will set in. We can place a covering on these grooves to minimise the buildup that leads to caries. No anaesthetic is required in this noninvasive procedure. The teeth are cleaned, and then a seal is bonded to the tooth. It’s conservative and will last through the childhood years so that you won’t have to worry about a need for fillings.
Oral Hygiene Instructions
We’ll detail what your child can do at home for proper brushing and flossing techniques. You can listen in, too, so that you know what we want them to take into their own hands. If there are any specific products that they may benefit from using, we’ll let you know what we recommend.
Orthodontic Referrals
When your child comes in for an examination,
Dentist Dr Carmen Hobeika will check over their growth pattern and dentition. If there are any concerns that need further investigation, we can refer them to an orthodontist in our area.
Sports Mouthguards
If your child is active in sport where there is a risk of contact, a mouthguard can protect their teeth, jaw and head. By absorbing impact, it can prevent serious trauma from occurring. Our sports mouthguards are custom-created in our on-site laboratory.

We proudly participate in Government dental subsidy schemes and accept eligible patients for the Medicare & The Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS).
CDBS provides basic dental services to children aged between 2 and 17 years. Dental services are capped at $1000 over 2 consecutive calendar years. The 2-year cap period starts when a child or teenager first gets an eligible dental service. Contact us if you are not sure you are eligible.
